Make Vintage Jeans Your Own at Manhattan Vintage: Denim Edition

By Maurice Malone Published August 31, 2025
Just picked up a pair of vintage jeans that don’t quite fit right? Or maybe you’ve got something more ambitious in mind—like combining two vintage pairs into one killer design? That’s where we come in.
Williamsburg Garment Company is excited to announce that we’ll be showcasing our services at the upcoming Manhattan Vintage: Denim Edition, happening Saturday, September 27, 2025, in New York City’s Lower East Side, 59 Orchard St., 5th Floor. This is a special, one-day event curated by the team behind Manhattan Vintage—dedicated exclusively to denim, workwear, and Americana fashion.
And if there's one thing we know, it's denim.

Why Visit Us at the Show?
And if there's one thing we know, it's denim.
- Customizing vintage jeans by combining multiple pieces into one cohesive design
- Tailoring heavyweight denim, workwear, and knit garments using industrial sewing techniques
- Downsizing or reshaping vintage finds while maintaining original construction and stitch detail
- Reconstructing denim to match your creative vision—without it looking like a DIY project
- Helping vintage lovers reimagine their garments with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail
We do it all, with factory-quality sewing that respects and elevates the piece’s heritage.
Bringing Creative Denim Ideas to Life
We’ll have real examples on display, including a standout pair of customized denim shorts recently created by one of our customers. What started as slim-fitting jeans were reimagined with added volume by inserting triangular panels made from the lighter reverse side of another pair of old jeans. The transformation widened the leg openings and, when cuffed, highlights the contrast and construction. It’s a perfect example of factory-level denim customization that gives the piece new life—without losing its vintage soul.
What Is Denim Edition?
Denim Edition is part of the Manhattan Vintage Show’s new series of themed “Edition” events—each one offering a deeper dive into specific areas of vintage fashion. The September 27th event is fully focused on denim culture, attracting collectors, enthusiasts, and creatives who love jeans, chore coats, vintage sweatshirts, canvas jackets, and all things rugged and American-made.
If you’re planning to attend, come by our booth to talk shop, get inspired, and ask questions about how we can help you reimagine your latest vintage score. We’ll be there with ideas, examples, and options—whether you want subtle refinements or full-on denim transformations.
Because great vintage deserves more than just admiration.
It deserves a fit and finish that matches your vision.

Where You Find Jeans, Tees Won’t Be Far Behind

T-Shirt Too Long? We’ve Got You!
Got a vintage tee from the ’80s or ’90s with that perfect boxy fit—but it’s just too long? Our t-shirt hemming service is the solution.
We shorten tees while keeping that factory-fresh finish, using a professional coverstitch machine like those found in knitwear factories. The result is a clean, flexible hem that stretches with the fabric and looks original—not hacked off or homemade.
