The Momotaro “Copper Label” jeans represent one of the brand’s more distinctive builds, combining heavyweight selvedge denim with signature details that set them apart from standard production models.
Constructed from 14.7 oz. sanforized selvedge denim, the fabric is woven from 100% Zimbabwe cotton and dyed in a deep, pure indigo that starts out nearly black and develops strong contrast as it fades. The long-staple cotton gives the denim a smoother hand than most fabrics in this weight class, while still holding the structure and durability expected from Japanese selvedge.
This pair of G017-MZ is made in a low rise, tight straight fit, offering a clean silhouette with a slightly narrower leg without being overly tapered. The fabric has been one-washed, so the shrinkage is already set, and the jeans are ready to wear from day one.
What makes the Copper Label stand out is in the details. The 5-button fly uses solid copper hardware, paired with matching copper rivets throughout. The back pocket features Momotaro’s peach-inspired stitching, while the pink selvedge ID and pink inseam thread are subtle but recognizable markers of the brand.
Additional construction details include indigo-dyed pocket bags, a cowhide leather patch with Japan Blue embossing, and a fully finished interior that reflects the level of care put into production.
