A huge rip which partially tears into the center seam and extends nearly to the rear pocket is repaired with patches of denim fabric as backing on the inside of the jeans. Matching stitching is then sewn along the grain on top. The photo below the repaired jeans shows the original pant with the large rip and frayed edges.
