Unlike heavily distressed denim that attempts to imitate years of wear, Benzak’s approach is more refined. The stonewashing process lightens the indigo shade to create a bright, clean blue jean while preserving the character of the fabric itself. The result is a pair of stonewashed selvedge denim jeans that feel broken in from day one without relying on artificial wear patterns.
The B-02 features Benzak’s regular straight fit, inspired by classic 1940s denim silhouettes. A comfortable high rise, roomy upper block, and straight legs create a balanced fit that offers freedom of movement while maintaining a clean profile. The shaped top block improves comfort and fit compared to traditional vintage reproductions, making these jeans easy to wear every day.
The denim itself is equally noteworthy. Woven by Candiani in Italy, the fabric uses the mill’s Indigo Juice® dyeing process, which leaves more of the yarn’s white core untouched beneath the indigo surface. This allows the denim to reveal contrast and character more quickly than conventional indigo-dyed fabrics while also reducing water and energy consumption during production. The result is a more sustainable approach to producing premium selvedge blue jeans without sacrificing appearance or long-term fading potential.
