Shipping Insurance
Protect your shipment with additional USPS or UPS shipping insurance. This option is available with 1-Way, 2-Way, and 3-Way Shipping.
Both USPS and UPS include up to $100 of insurance per package with most shipments. If the value of your jeans or other garments exceeds $100, we strongly recommend purchasing additional insurance for added protection during transit.
Shipping insurance provides peace of mind should a package become lost or damaged while in the carrier’s possession. Although shipping issues are uncommon, valuable garments deserve the extra protection.
Insurance Coverage by Shipping Option
1-Way Shipping
- Covers our shipment back to you.
- You are responsible for insuring the shipment you send to us if you choose to purchase your own shipping.
2-Way Shipping
- Covers both directions of shipment.
- Your shipment to Williamsburg Garment Company is insured.
- Our return shipment back to you is insured.
3-Way Shipping
With 3-Way Shipping, the declared insurance value is divided between the two return shipments.
For example, if you purchase $500 of additional shipping insurance:
- Your shipment to Williamsburg Garment Company is insured for $500.
- The first return shipment is insured for $250.
- The second and final return shipment is insured for $250.
By default, the return insurance value is divided equally between the two return shipments.
If you would like different insurance amounts assigned to specific items or shipments, please list the requested insurance value for each item in the Order Notes section during checkout. We’ll apply the insurance based on your instructions whenever possible.
Example Order Note For Value of $500:
- Jeans A – $200 insurance
- Jeans B – $150 insurance
- Jeans C – $150 insurance
This allows us to assign the appropriate insurance value to each return shipment based on the items included.
We Recommend Adding Insurance If:
- Your shipment is worth more than $100.
- You’re sending premium denim, rare jeans, or sentimental garments.
- You’re shipping multiple items in one package.
Additional shipping insurance applies only to shipping labels purchased through Williamsburg Garment Company. Insurance coverage is based on the declared value you select when placing your order.
