Williamsburg vs. Levi's Fit Guide

A clash between modern and classic heavy weights? We review the Levi’s size chart for 501 jeans and compare the measurements to our closest fit, the Williamsburg relaxed straight. Both styles are raw denim jeans, the Levi’s a selvedge and WGC a non-selvedge standard denim.

Looking at the Levi’s size chart, it’s safe to say you should wear the same size in both straight leg jeans. However, the jeans do have big differences like the seat, rise and leg width below the thighs. Overall the Williamsburg jeans have a slimmer fit everywhere except the thigh, which is only ¼” larger. Not a big difference there, the South 2nd Street fit is gaining fans because it looks modern and slim while still comfortable and loose in the right areas. The leg opening, although not small or tapered, is smaller than the men’s 501 jeans.

Measurements are taken from actual production samples. Our recorded specs may differ slightly from jean to jean, so we average and take into consideration the targeted measurements. When comparing sizing, please note, we use total circumference measurements in our fit charts. Others may use 1/2-circumference.
