Williamsburg Grand Street vs. A.P.C. Petit New Standard measurements

This guide compares two non-stretch selvedge raw denim jeans with a little confusion in the fit description. A.P.C. calls the Petit New Standard fit a Straight Mid-Rise but the jeans are slim and have a tapered leg opening. At the time of our research, on the A.P.C. website, we found in the fit description “Very tight leg fitted at the bottom. Straight mid-rise,” so don’t be confused by the Straight fit in the title, it’s a slim tapered jean.

Grand Street, is our slim fit jean. The upper portion of the Williamsburg jeans is slightly smaller than the Petit New Standard, while A.P.C. sizing at thigh and leg opening is smaller. You should wear the same size in both jeans, expecting a slightly smaller thigh and smaller leg opening with the Petit New Standard fit.

Measurements are taken from actual production samples. Our recorded specs may differ slightly from jean to jean, so we average and take into consideration the targeted measurements. When comparing sizing, please note, we use total circumference measurements in our fit charts. Others may use 1/2-circumference.
