Williamsburg Garment Company
The Grand Street is our best-selling fit. It has a medium rise with a bit of room above the knee with a slim taper below the knee. The leg opening is sized to sit atop a high-top sneaker or boot. It is also large enough to be pulled down for a snug fit over most boots.
The fabric is a part of the last produced American made Cone Mills White Oak denim. This stretch selvedge gives you a soft and firm hand feel with superb comfort and movement. As you wear and break-in the jeans, the fabric will begin to show beautiful fades which are unique and personal to you. In this style, we recommend an initial close-fit because this denim is loosely woven and will quickly stretch and expand in size as you walk, sit, and go about your daily life. If you don't plan to wear the jeans unwashed long enough that they incur growth - washing soon after purchase or regularly, you should plan for about a 1 size or 5% overall shrinkage. For more details refer to our guide on raw denim stretch and shrinkage.
To see how this style looks after months to years of wear, we photographed jeans submitted from our customers in for either alterations or repairs. Check-out our blog post which goes in-depth about stretch raw denim fades before and after.
Beyond the denim, these jeans have medium weight twill American Flag inspired pocket bags. This latest production has heavy black rivets and shank button with clear rubber washers for added durability.
Our mission since day one has been to provide the best jeans made in USA at a reasonable price. For the last few decades, made in USA brands have become rarer, especially those also produced in U.S. manufactured denim. We thank you for supporting our brand and mission.
Great pair of selvedge jeans. Good fit. Nice denim weight for summer. A little stretch. Great details in a cool made in USA jean.
I'm not a denim head or "crazy fade" fanatic, I prefer my jeans to retain the dark indigo color so as to be able to dress them up if I want. I bought these jeans for all around use such as going out, lounging around the house, dates or even light work around my property which is why I chose the "stretch" denim. I normally wear a 32 in department store jeans but after experiencing the wash/dry shrinkage of raw denim with my first pair of jeans (from another company) I decided to go with a size 34. I wore them a few times and then did a cold wash and tumble dry low to see how they did, they're now the perfect size and didn't fade. I love the story behind this company and the fact that these jeans aren't priced outrageously compared to other American made jeans. I believe I have found my favorite pair of jeans and as of now I plan to pick up another pair to swap in and out to minimize wear and fade. I like that they don't use a leather branding patch so as to prevent the needles killing of animals as well. I'm by no means against leather made products but I do believe in being responsible and human with God's creatures.
I love these jeans. They fit perfectly, look fantastic, and have just the right amount of stretch to make the ride on the motorcycle so much more comfortable. I highly recommend and will be ordering more in the future.
This is the first pair of jeans from Williamsburg Garment I chose to buy. After going through several raw denims from different brands, I've come to realize that for me, fit and comfort are the two most important elements that I would look for when buying a denim. And this pair has exactly what I was looking for. For the fit, it's slim, not skinny; and tapers down to leg opening. And it's zip-fly. Moreover, it's a stretch denim rather than those usual heavy oz denims with 100% cotton, so it's really comfortable compared to them. Personally, it would have been perfect if the back pockets were a bit smaller, but I'm still happy that I came across Williamsburg Garment and got these jeans.
These are possibly the best raw selvage jeans I've ever owned. Firstly, I love that they are vegan. It's almost impossible to find raw selvage without awful leather patches. Secondly, I love that these are made in the USA. Feels great to not support domestic jobs. But the design is by far best thing about these jeans. For instance, my phone actually fits in the front pocket without poking out or digging into my pelvis when I sit. There are also two understated and really useful coin pockets that I've never seen on any other pair of jeans. That really makes these jeans stand out without looking flashy. I didn't think I'd like the stretch denim as much as I do either. But they're actually much more comfortable and allow for a lot more mobility and movement than other similar jeans. The only reason these jeans don't get five stars is that I a prefer a button fly over zipper fly. But overall, the comfort makes it really easy to break in my new favorite pair of jeans.
I am a big Grand St fan and have at least 5 pairs now. My biggest complaint is that even once broken in they could be just a touch too restrictive for certain activities. Biking, a lot of walking, frequent bending and lifting. Enter Grand St stretch where you can do a full on squat the second you put them on. The rise is a bit lower than other Grand St batches so that will take a little getting used to but the fit is otherwise spot on.
